Write about a film that you really enjoyed. It can be one you have recently seen or an old one. Remember to use vocabulary related to films. You can watch this video to learn some vocabulary. (You'll be really surprised about how Brad Pitt changes in the video ;-))
Include the following information:
some general information about the film (title, genre, director...)
actors/main characters
short description of the plot
other interesting aspects about the film: soundtrack, costumes, make up, setting...
your opinion about the film / why would you recommend it?
Human Rights Day is observed every
year on 10 December. It commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United
Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights. In 1950, the Assembly passed resolution 423 (V), inviting all States and
interested organisations to observe 10 December of each year as Human
Rights Day.
But, what are human rights? How
many of them do you know?
You can learn something about them
watching these videos:
According to the videos, human rights are clear and well-defined but, unfortunately, they are not respected in many parts of the world. Can you think of some examples? If you watch or read the news you'll probably can think of many, and not of all them are far away places. Work with a partner and make a list of them, of a list of problems the world is facing at the moment.
These videos are definitely sad and hard to watch, but they show the reality of millions of people every day:
What words can define your feelings or opinion about the situations shown in the videos? Try to think of 3 adjectives.
What can we, as citizens, do to improve this situation? How could human rights be respected in more places? Try put forward 3 ideas?
Watch the video and answer the following questions. Post a comment with your answer (remember to write your name on it)
1. According to the video, what are the main problems of the school system? 2. Do you agree with the ideas expressed in the video? What do you think about the school system in our country? What do you think about how things work in your high school? 3.In your opinion, who's to blame for the things that don't work properly in your school? 4. What can teachers do to make things change? And students?
Although you are not a fanatic of Game of Thrones I'm sure you know what TV series we are talking about, as it is famous all over the world and watched by millions of spectators every week. Why do you think it is so popular?
Lots of scenes for the sixth season of Game of Thrones have been shot on location in our country.
How many of these locations are named in the video?
Why did they choose to film on location in Spain instead of doing it in a studio?
What's the best thing about Spain according to the people talking in the video?
As you can see, Spain's landscapes and monuments are especially appreciated by the cinema industry. Think about a monument or natural landscape you especially like in Spain and write a short description about it. Do you think it would be ideal for a film or TV series? Can you recommend it to a film director?
Watch the following video, RUNAWAY, and answer the questions below. Remember to write your name when you post the comment.
1. Write a summary of what happens in the video. No more than 4 lines. What can we learn from this short story? 2. Although it may seem strange, we often feel attached to things. What's your most precious possession? Why is it so important to you? 3. What do you and your family do at home? Do you usually repair things or do you buy new ones?
Hi, boys and girls! How are you? I hope you are enjoying your Christmas holidays. Here you can have a look at the powerpoint presentations you showed in the classroom. I have made some corrections and improvements, I hope you like them. I have to admit that you did a really good job!
Please, have a look at all of them and write some opinions about the subject (Did you find it interesting? Did you know anything about this subject? etc.)
HECTOR and ANTONIO, I can't upload your presentation about King Arthur because you didn't send it to me :-( I hope you do it soon!
What memories of this summer come to your mind? A summer love or friendship? An unforgettable trip? Has this summer been "the summer of your life"? Some people say that students' summer holidays are too long. Do you agree with them?
And what are your expectations for the school year? What is the best thing of coming back to school? Meeting again your school friends? Telling them about your summer? Seeing your teachers again? (hahaha)
Let's try to be positive and see the good side of life. There are songs
that, for one reason or another, put us in a good mood. It's difficult
to choose just one of them, but I've chosen this oldie goldie from 1978
by Earth Wind and Fire because it really goes with the season
we're in, and it appears at the beginning of a French film which I
really like, The Intouchables. I hope you enjoy the song! And I recommend you the film.
Could you tell us about a song that puts you in a good mood? Can you write a paragraph about it? If you add a link your classmates can listen to it or watch the video too and give their opinions about it.
