I'm going to talk about a recently released film titled "Passengers".
ReplyDeleteIt's an American science fiction movie which also has some adventure and truely romance. The director is the Norwegian Morten Tyldum who's best known for directing internationally successful films such as "Headhunters" or "The Imitation Game".
Going on with the cast, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt star in this blockbuster so it has been such a box office smash, as could not be otherwise. In addition, we find some supporting roles played by Michael Sheen (the waiter), Laurence Fishburne (a spacecraft commander)...
Well, without further ado, let's go to the plot;
This film is set in a futuristic world in which a spaceship called Avalon is bound to transport a crew of 5,000 colonists in hibernation to the planet 'Homestead II', a journey that takes almost 120 years.
After 30 years into it, the ship encounters a meteor shower and weakened as a result of the impact causing a malfunction that awakens one passenger (Jim Preston) 90 years too early... And I'am not telling you anything else because I don't want to spoil you the film!!
On the other hand, you can read several reviews to find out how good the lightning, cinematography and costumes are (specially the black dress the lead actress wears... awesome!!).
Special effects take the pride of place since meteors, fire and no-gravity scenes look absolutely real.
To sum up, I reckon it's the kind of film you feel like watching on a rainy day when going out is not an option and, what's more, a bowl of popcorns and a coke fit pretty well.
I would recommend it to sci-fi lovers because it has everything you expect from a movie and of course, if you are a Jennifer Lawrence fan, you must watch it straight away! Her A-lister work is none other than a work of art!!
I'm going to talk about Interstellar. It’s an American science fiction and adventure movie with some small nuances of romance. The director is Christopher Nolan he is a very good director who was nominated 3 times to win the Oscar. He made other films like Inception or Batman Begins. The starts are McConaughey He play the role of Cooper a pilot who must find another planet to live and Hathaway she play the role of a scientist who help Copper and fall in love of Cooper. Michael Caine makes a cameo for get confused the viewer and he play the role of scientist liar in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think the plot it´s very good and a little complicated to follow. It is sent in the 21st century the crops begin to die for no reason. This is the signals that indicate the humans must search another planet to live. Cooper and Amelia with the help of their team and the NASA search another planet to live. But on the journey will find difficulties and experience that they never imagined because they will have help from other entities.
The sound track it’s very strange in my opinion but Hans Zimmer the persons who made the sound track said that it´s represent the relationship between a father and a son but I do not know if that's true jajaja. Interstellar won the Oscar of better visual effects also interstellar grossed $188 million in the USA & Canada. That is a lot of money.
They have very good critics and I recommended this movie if you love science fiction and adventure films but you have to be very concentrate in the film because they begin to say very rare scientific things. If you see it you will understand.

I'm going to talk about one of my favourites films ever. Your Name is a 2016 romantic drama (chick flick).
ReplyDeleteIt's a Japanese anime (it means that it's an animated film), quite popular all over the world.
Recently it has broken the record of the most successful Japanese film and it hasn't come to a lot of countries yet.
It's been written by Makoto Shinkai, the press call him the new Miyazaki, (Miyazaki is the most popular director of animated films, he's one of the founders of the Studio Ghibli) he has directed more films, like 5 centimetres per second or the garden of Words.
The main characters are Mitsuha and Taki.
Mitsuha is a student in a village who wants to be a cute boy who live in Tokyo, and Taki is a cute boy who lives in Tokyo.
The plot is developed in the village where Mitsuha lives and in Tokyo. After an introduction both teenagers start switching their bodies. I can’t tell you more about the plot, because if I do I’ll ruin you the film.
The soundtrack of the film is quite good and it was well received by audiences and critics, winning a lot of awards in this category.
I recommend everybody to see this film. It’s coming to Spain on 7 April. I’ve seen this film on a website with captions in English and I loved it so much however If I were you I’ll wait until 7 April to see this film in good quality.
Also, I want to talk about the Oscar this film should have won. This film received a lot of awards last year and everybody was securing that it was going to be nominated for the Oscars. Finally, it didn’t happen. I think that this film had to win 2016 Oscar in the category of best animated film. The main reason this didn’t happen was that the film hasn’t been released in the U.S. yet, it’s been released just in some Asian countries like Japan, China or Korea.

I’m going to review a movie that I watched yesterday. It’s name is “Ip Man”, a chinese movie that tells the story (based on true facts) of Ip Man (葉問) who was a martial artist and a master teacher of Wing Chun, a martial art based on self-defense. Also he was the master of the famous actor and martial artist Bruce Lee.
ReplyDeleteThe genre of this movie is sport/drama and it was released in 2008. There are three Ip Man movies, and a possible fourth one in 2017. The first one, which I watched yesterday, was directed by Wilson Yip and written by Edmond Wong, who you probably never heard of. The actors playing in this movie aren’t famous either, but I can assure you they know how to play well. Donnie Yen plays the main character, or protagonist, who is Ip Man, and Hiroyuki Ikeuchi the antagonist Miura, a general of the imperial army of Japan.
The first half of the movie sets in China, before it is invaded by the Japanese soldiers in World War Two, and the rest shows how Ip Man, a famous master of Wing Chun who is often offered to fight with other masters that want to claim the popularity he has among the village, is treated like a slave working in carbon mines as he tries to survive and help his family with one bag of rice a day. Miura likes to fight too, and he wants to demonstrate to the Chinese people that the Japanese karate is way better than the Chinese Wing Chun, so he invites every week four masters to his fighting club and makes them fight with his karate students.
The film ends with a fight between Ip Man and the general Miura, but I won’t tell what happens next because I reckon it’s a movie worth to watch.

The film I'm going to talk is "Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu ?" . It's a French romcom directed and produced by Philippe de Chauveron. It was released in 2014 in France. This film was a smash film because the box office was about $148.5 million . It last 97 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThe main characters are Christian Clavier, Chantal Lauby ,Ary Abittan, Frédéric Chau, Frédérique Bel, Élodie Fontan.
The plot is about a couple a bit racist who have 4 daughters. 3 daughters are marred to foreigners and the little daughter rest to get marry.
The parents hope that their little daughter get marry a french neighbor, but finally it doesn't happen.
In the end, the parents accept their soons in law despite the conflicts.
I liked a lot this film because is a good comedy and in laugh a lot while its duration. I watch this film twice, the first in Spanish and the second in French, and finally I liked more then the first time.
I recommend it because you will have a good time, and if y were you I would see it in French language since the first time.
I'm going to talk about a film that i've seen some years ago, called "Good Bye, Lenin!". It's a German tragicomedy film, directed by Wolfang Becker and released the 13 February 2003.
ReplyDeleteIt talks about a German socialist family, whose mother (Christiane) falls into a coma after a heart attack when his son is arrested in a manifestation. After that, the Berlin wall falls, and some months later, Christiane wakes up. The rest of the family knows about the poor health of their mother, and they try to hide the advance of capitalism in Communist Germany, because they are sure that if she finds out, she will die. Finally, in spite of their efforts, she finds out. She can't support it, and she dies in the end.
This film has won 15 prizes, for example, the best film or the best actor and actress.
In my opinion, if I had to recommend a film, I would recommend it. The end can be a bit hard for some people, but the plot is very simple and easy to follow, and the film is really funny.

I'm going to talk about an old film titled "The Hunger Games" which is a fantasy novel by Suzanne Collins. It is the first of a trilogy book, "The hunger games", "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay". It is set in North America know as "Panem" where the capitol chooses a girl and a boy between the ages 12 and 18 from each of twelve districts.
ReplyDeleteAmong the characters, the protagonists were Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth).When Katniss Everdeen's sister is chosen to go a "The Hunger Games" ,where a person only will live, she takes the place of her sister. During the competition she has to fight her way with Peeta Mellark, the other tribute from her district, her love in the arena.
In my opinion, The Hunger Games is a very entertaining film. I highly recommend it to everyone from 12 years. In addition, I also recommend read the book because it is well-written. For the present time, it continues being my favorite trilogy of movies.

ReplyDeleteThe Shining is a psychological horror film based on a Stephen King's novel called as the same name. It was released in 1980 and until his premiere it was a blockbuster. It was directed by Stanley Kubrick, one of the most important directors in the 20th century whose films have influenced many others. It was starred by Jack Nicholson, a famous actor who have stared other films like Chinatown , and Shelley Duvall.
ReplyDeleteIt talks about the stay of Jack Torrance, his wife and his child in a lost hotel during the winter for work reasons. It wasn't a normal one because strange things happends every day until Jack goes mad and tries finally to murder his family but i'm not going to say the end.
It hasn't got lots of special effects but it isn't a bad fact because the soundtrack makes it terrorific enough so the effects aren't necessary.
It's my favourite film so I think it's a great one. The thing I love the most about it's how it involves you into with a small budget in a small place and I know it isn't an easy fact.
I’m going to talk about “Divergent”, which is my favorite film. Divergent is an American science fiction action film directed by Neil Burger and based on the novel of the same name by Veronica Roth. It was released on March 2014 in the United States. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian Chicago. People are divided into 5 district factions based on human virtues.
ReplyDeleteThe principal character is Beatrice “Tris” Prior. She is “Divergent” (she will never fit into a faction), she is strong-willed and courageous. She is my favorite character because all the story revolves around her. Another important character is Tobias “Four” Eaton, he is the initiation instructor for the Dauntless. He’s “Divergent” and he has a mysterious personality. Jeanine is the leader of Erudite faction and she is the main antagonist in the novel.
Society is divided into 5 factions: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless and Erudite. Beatrice must make the decision to stay whit her family (in the same faction, Abnegation) or change into another one. She chose Dauntless. She has to keep secret that she is Divergent, because people think that Divergents are dangerous for the society. During the film there are some romances and fights against this special people.
I recommended to watch this entertaining film and if you like science fictions film I think that it’s fine to see. Also, I recommended the books, because, this trilogies are my favorite, the films and the books.

ReplyDeleteThis is an historical drama film directed by Mark Herman in 2008. This film is based on novel, which was written by John Boyne in 2006. The film is set on the second world war.
The protagonists are Bruno (Asa Butterfield) and Shmuel (Jack Scanlon), they were only 9 years old when they were shooted for the film. There are a lot of characters, but these are the most important, because they are talking to each other almost all the movie. When this film released, many people wanted to watch it, and the company earn 40.416.563 of dollars, which is a high number.
Bruno is a german boy who lives with his parents in Auschwitz, near the famous concentration camp which is there. He sees every day people with striped pyjamas, and he thinks they are only farmers. He decides to talk with a striped pyjama boy of his same age, Shmuel, and they become friends. But there is a problem, Shmuel is a Jewish prisoner... The end of the movie is really dramatic
I think it's a very good film that reflect in a realistic way the holocoust. The film is beautiful, you can feel the innocent soul of a kid and, at the same time, the cruel extermination of people in the second world war. I don't recommend this movie to everyone because it has a sad end and you can cry a lot!

I’m going to talk about a film called “room” which is an independent drama film directed by Lenny Abrahamson and written by Emma Donoghue, based on her novel of the same name.
ReplyDeleteIt stars Brie Larson as a woman who has been kidnapped for seven years, and whose 5-year-old son was born in captivity. The film also stars Jacob Tremblay, who plays the role of the child, and Sean Bridgers who is “the old Nick”, the kidnapper.
Joy, the protagonist, has been held captive for seven years and she has had a son during the captivity. “The old Nick” is the man who kidnapped Joy and often rapes her in the room while Jack, their son, is sleeping in a closet. But one day Jack goes out of the closet and sees Nick. Joy decides that this is the moment to tell her son the truth and to try to scape. She achieves the plan and come to home but life is very different than 7 years before.
I haven’t enjoyed the film at all because it is very realistic and based on a true story so I put myself on her place and it was worrying. Although the film was disturbing I would recommend it to people to show that life is not always as easy as we think.

Suicide Squad is an American superhero film, directed by David Ayer in 2016. It’s based on the DC comics of the same name, which isn’t about superheroes but an antihero team.
ReplyDeleteThe main characters are played by some well known actors and actresses such as Will Smith as Deadshot (a hired assassin and expert sniper, who has never missed a shot), Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn (a psychiatrist turned to criminal, sidekick and partner of The Joker), Jared Leto as The Joker (archenemy of Batman and a super villain/mob boss) and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller (agent of the FBI who assembles the Suicide Squad).
The story takes place after the events occurred in the previous movie of the franchise, Batman V Superman (starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill). After Superman’s death, the US government decides to assemble a team of criminals with special abilities forced (by implanting a bomb in their necks) to protect the world against superhuman menaces. When the archeologist June Moon unleashes an ancient evil spirit that possesses her body, the Squad must save the day as they go on a suicide mission. At the same time, The Joker will try to rescue his partner Harley Quinn from the military as he knows all the mob underworld in the city.
I think it’s a great action-packed film, I have liked it very much as a comic book fan. In my opinion it’s entertaining, it hasn’t got any boring moments and has some really cool and sometimes humorous moments.
It has won the Oscar for the best make-up in 2017.

The films set in Japon , Los Angeles and Abu Dabi. I like this film because it is a saga which have seven films and the director never change the main characters who are Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodríguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris y Jason Statham.
I recomend this film if you like the cars races or the acction fims.

ReplyDelete“Big Fish” is one of my favorite films ever. It is a dramatic and fantastic movie which has a magical realism side. This film was directed by Tim Burton and written by John August. It is based on the novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions by Daniel Wallace. Big Fish was released in 2003. His director, Tim Burton, is known for his dark, gothic, eccentric and quirky fantasy films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands or the animated musical The Nightmare before Christmas.
The great Ewan McGregor stars this film, but there are many other actors in the cast like Albert Finney, Jessica Lange, Helena Bonham Carter, and Marion Cotillard.
Ewan McGregor plays Edward Bloom, the main character of the movie. Edward Bloom is a big dreamer in a small village who wants to do great things. That’s the reason he leaves Ashton with the giant who was terrifying the village. He lives a lot of adventures and meets a lot of friends that will be there for a lifetime.
The movie begins with Edward Bloom telling the story of his life. Year after year he tells the same story and everybody seems amazed about this except his son, who decided that the stories his father tells are a lie. That’s why they stop talking. But when Edward gets sick when he is old, his son (with his wife) decides to visit him. We discover the whole story then, because he begins to tell it again to his son’s wife. We can notice that the stories are difficult to believe but like everyone we love to hear about them in the movie.
The soundtrack was made by Danny Elfman who always works with Tim Burton. And as always, the music is marvelous.
I love this film, and I have to say that I cry every time I see it. I recommend this film to all the ones who don´t refuse to see this genre, because it is a bit weird (but awesome).
